Young EAP/ESPNIC trainee event

Young EAP / ESPNIC trainee events at the EAPS Congress in Paris were a success. Many young professionals participated in the Young Networking Event and Fun Run along the Seine.



First cohort of Young EAP at EAP Spring Meeting

During the Spring Meeting in Sofia, the newly appointed Young EAP officials were introduced to EAP members. Several new Young EAP projects were being developed and discussed during the Spring Meeting. Finally, the Sofia meeting also hosted the second Young EAP Webinar, during which Dr. Sarah Dalton and Professor Laurents Stassen shared their experience on how to involve and train residents to reduce low value care and be good stewards of limited health care resources. Off to a great start!

 

European Summit on Prevention and Management of Chronic Respiratory Diseases

European Summit on Prevention and Management of Chronic Respiratory Diseases has taken place on March 23, 2018 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Two members of Young EAP participated in Summit, Ivanna Romankevych (Ukraine) and Tomas Alasevicius (Lithuania). The summit brought together specialists in the field of treatment and prevention of chronic diseases in children and adults, politicians, specialists in the field of environmental protection. The partners of the event were the European Forum for Research and Education on Allergy and Respiratory Diseases (EUFOREA), the Society for Allergic Rhinitis and their Effects on Asthma (ARIA), the WHO Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (WHO GARD), the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI ), European Respiratory Society (ERS), European Rhino Society (ERS), European Academy of Pediatrics (EAP / UEMS-SP), European Association of Patients with Asthma and Allergies (EFA), Health Committee of the Lithuanian Sejm (Parliament), MI Lithuanian Health Care Institution, Vilnius University Medical Faculty, Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, WHO and other medical societies. The focus of the Summit participants was on the negative impact of environmental pollution on the human body, in particular on the respiratory tract. The ways of solving problems related to the formation and progression of chronic respiratory diseases were discussed. The emphasis was put on the need to unite efforts at the level of the world community in the fight for clean air for the people of the planet Earth and our descendants.
